Archaeological Assets Workshop Launches the "Social Shield" and the "Antiquities Observatory"

From 21 to 30 January 2025, Arniyada organized a workshop on "Protecting Archaeological Assets in Taiz Governorate" in response to the growing threats facing historical sites.

The workshop addressed the demolition of the "Qubbat al-Aza'az" dome and the suspension of excavation at the historic "Hammam Yafrus", and resulted in the "Social Shield" concept that turns citizens into community monitors, as well as the establishment of the "Yemen Antiquities Protection Observatory" specialized in documentation and reporting to international and judicial bodies.
